Carla Niehaus

Carla Niehaus grew up in Southwestern Ohio and graduated from Anderson College with a Bacchelors in Art, and Miami University with a Masters in Art. She has participated in numerous exhibitions taking Best of Show awards in several, including The Hyde Park Art Fair, The Summer Fair, Miami University Show Antioch College Show, Dayton Arts Festival, and the Canton Arts Guild. Her works are held in the permanent collections of numerous corporations, universities, hospitals, and of course many private collections as well.

The quiet grace of Carla Niehaus watercolor introduces the wooded landscape to its own contemporary expression. Natural forms become defined, not by surface detail, but by the gentle energy they give and receive. So well expressed and rich in color is winter to autumn, intermingled with an occasional transient sculpture of a forest stream. Carla so carefully selected the Hartford area as her permanent residence, because of her love of the natural beauty of the Connecticut terrain.
