Super Bowl weekend was kicked off in Indianapolis with a gathering of Classic basketball fans at the home of Elaine and John Klein. It was I.U. vs. Purdue on the basement rec room TV. Chili, its fixings, salad, Texas toast was the menu upstairs, prepared by Elaine, and soda fountain ice cream delicacies downstairs, prepared by John wearing his soda fountain tie. Everyone wore crimson and cream or black and gold, depending upon his or her college affiliation. Ms. Alexandra Elaine klein wore her I.U. cheerleading costume. I.U.'s win was never in doubt.
Special guests of the Kleins were Bob & Lois Olson of Moline, Ill. Other "basketball tailgaters" were Turner Woodard, Helen Vogel & Bib Titlow, Fred Salmon, Jim & Pam Ray, Bloor & Milly Redding, Jack & Marilyn Pecsok, Bill & Sonja Miller, Shawn Miller, Hugh & Sally McKnight, Don & Bev McCallum, Bill Lurvey, Steve Jones, Bill & Carolyn Greer, and Ruth Dougherty.
Beeps: Bill Greer is trying to get 30 Stutz cars and fire engines to attend the Stutz Club national meet at Hickory Corners next June. Molly Redding is teaching a sewing class at Joan's Fabrics to earn money for her airplane's repair. Jack & Marilyn Pecsok have returned from their annual visit to western Mexico. The Maleys are in Florida (but you probably have more info about this trip.)
